During the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) 2026 Conference in Los Angeles, the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) and ASLA announced the establishment of the CLARB Exam Success Grants - a program that will provide financial aid for eligible candidates taking the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E). CLARB has donated $500,000 for these grants to the ASLA Fund, who will administer the program. Active L.A.R.E. candidates in CLARB member jurisdictions with no access to other licensure assistance will be able to apply for the grant through the ASLA Fund when they register for a section of the L.A.R.E. Once CLARB confirms that a candidate has successfully completed and passed that section, the ASLA Fund will distribute a reimbursement for the exam fees. Candidates must reapply for each section, and the ASLA web page for the program states that application dates "roughly coincide with L.A.R.E. exam registration opening dates." On that same page, CLARB CEO Matt Miller is quoted, saying: "By providing targeted support opportunities to candidates facing financial barriers, we can make the path to licensure more accessible while continuing to invest in the programs and examination systems that serve the entire profession."
