The American Concrete Institute (ACI) has announced the winners of its 8th ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction. The Chau Chak Wing Museum, in Sydney, Australia, received the Overall Excellence Award.

 

The Museum also won the first-place award in the mid-rise structures section at the ACI Concrete Convention on the 24th of October. The awards were based around the awarding the most creative and innovative projects from around the world.

Regarding the winner, Overall Excellence Judge, Emily Guglielmo, said, "What makes this project particularly noteworthy is its commitment to sustainability and its focus on constructability. All this while meeting the demanding architectural vision. This project represents a model for concrete design and construction that we should all strive to achieve."
