For the thirty-third consecutive year, the University of California Los Angeles Extension is holding the Land Use Law and Planning Conference. This time, the conference will be held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles on Friday, January 18, 2019.The keynote speaker is going to be Michael Stoker, EPA regional administrator for the pacific southwest (region 9). All individuals involved in land use and environmental issues affecting California are encouraged to attend. Enrollment opened on November 5 and costs $535 if you register before December 19, or $595 any time after for the general public. For students, the cost is $395, while members of donating organizations and affiliates of the guest speakers can register for $495. There will be no refunds after January 18.Course materials, morning refreshments and lunch will be provided. There is not a time schedule publically available yet, however last year the conference started at 8:30 AM and ended at 4:45 PM. There are two scholarships available at the time of writing this article. The Hagman Conference Scholarship Fund and the Joanne Freilich Public Policy Memorial and Scholarship Funds.
