The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently released the data from their 2022 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife-Associated Recreation, which revealed that hunting and fishing contributed $145 billion to the U.S. economy, while wildlife watching added $250 billion. The survey highlighted that 39 million individuals participated in recreational fishing, 14 million in hunting, 148 million in wildlife watching, 47 million in target shooting, and 19 million in archery. These outdoor activities represent a significant economic force, touching both rural and urban areas. While the 2022 results differ from previous surveys due to methodological changes, The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service underscored the sustained strong engagement of Americans in fishing, hunting, and wildlife-associated recreation. https://tinyurl.com/USFWS-2023
