2020 Us Play Coalition Award Winners

Association Announces Two Award Recipients

The US Play Coalition began their awards program in 2017 to honor exceptional work in play research and youth development.

The US Play Coalition recently announced the recipients of their 2020 awards program. This year, the association recognized two exceptional play research and youth practitioners for their contributions to the knowledge and guidance of play in their communities. The 2020 Joe L. Frost Award for Distinguished Research was given to Stuart Brown, MD.

Being the founder and president of the National Institute for Play and having authored a researched based book on play, Brown was seen as an exceptional receipt for the award. Additionally, the US Play Coalition also honored Jessica Hentoff, the artistic/executive director of Circus Harmony in St. Louis, with the 2020 Youth Learning Institute's Youth Development Practitioner Award. Hentoff was recognized for her 40 years of teaching and performing in the circus arts and using her platform to focus on art education and youth development.
