Charlie Loudermilk Park Atlanta, Georgia

Charlie Loudermilk Park is a one-acre open space in Atlanta's Buckhead community. The goal for this long underused area was to create a safe and dynamic space that embodied the character and history of Buckhead. HGOR collaborated closely with the civil engineer and contractors to deliver the project on time and under budget. As the project lead, HGOR's work included coordinating delivery of a 60-foot tall clock tower, overseeing the installation of the lawn underdrain system and interactive water feature, and helping coordinate the implementation of the third phase of the Peachtree Streetscape improvement project.

Liberty Plaza, Atlanta, Georgia

Designs for a public space adjacent to the 125-year-old statehouse have been formulated for more than 100 years. The design called for a central green space to accommodate up to 3,000 people. A stage and terraced seating surround the gathering space. Trees around the plaza provide shade and a barrier to traffic. Streets were rerouted and sidewalks added. All the steel from the old parking structure was reused, and the concrete crushed for backfill material.

Mercer University – Cruz Plaza, Macon, Georgia

For the renovation of Cruz Plaza the role of the landscape architect was to design a pedestrian-oriented campus center. HGOR worked closely with the civil engineer and MEP engineer to ensure that the project achieved long-term infrastructure goals. HGOR was also the prime designer for the matching 30-foot gateway water walls, campus monuments and the relocation of the bear sculpture.

HGOR is focused on designing great places for people that support clear returns on investment and provide a stewardship ethic for future generations. Since this approach has distinct Social, Economic and Environment components, HGOR calls it "SEE philosophy". When team members encounter problems and challenges they look to SEE solutions to resolve them. HGOR currently has two principals, four associates and 16 additional staff.
