The 2014 Landscape Architects' Expo (LA Expo) in Long Beach, Calif., drew about 1,100 industry professionals on March 12 and 13, an attendance increase of more than 20 percent for the two-day event.

According to a survey of attendees, a majority of the visitors to the trade show were involved in design at their firms, and more than 40 percent were landscape designers or licensed landscape architects. Members of local and national industry organizations, including the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD), the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA), local members of the Building Industry Association (BIA), the Irrigation Association (IA) and other state licensure and horticulture groups were among the attendees at the two-day event.

"As a licensed landscape contractor that strives to stay on the cutting edge of what is new and best for my clients and the environment, I would encourage all green industry professionals to attend the 2015 LA Expo," said Edward Wallace, Horticultural Consultant at Midwest Landscaping in Long Beach. "[Visitors can] see what is available from other industry experts to keep clients happy, communities healthy, and your company's bottom line green."

"A show is worthwhile if I can see two or three new products, or ideas about using existing ones," another industry professional told landscapearchitect.com. "This show provided a lot more."
