September 21, 2018 marked the 13th annual Park(ing) Day. Several chapters of the ASLA ventured outside to transform a metered parking place into a tiny parklet. Groups posted pictures of their parks on social media using the hash tags, #ParkingDay2018 and #aslapd18. Several different parks with unique themes could be seen in parking spots around the country. Many ASLA chapters celebrated the event with games, activities and food at the sites of their parks. The Washington Chapter of the ASLA held an awards ceremony the evening after the events of Park(ing) Day, distributing honors for the best tiny parks in the Seattle area.
