Village Nurseries, which serves landscape markets throughout the western U.S., announces Rick Rehm as the company's new chief financial officer, replacing Wayne Johnson, who is retiring after 16 years of service. Mr. Rehm has a B.S. in Crop Science with a minor in agricultural business from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and an MBA from California State University, Long Beach. He has 27 years of wholesale nursery industry experience, most recently as vice president and senior relationship manager at Bank of the West, where for the past 10 years he was in charge of the Village Nurseries account. As a commercial lending officer, his focus was on middle market nursery/greenhouse financing. Before that, he worked for Bordier's Nursery in Irvine, Calif. as CFO/president of finance. "Rick leads by example," said David House, Village Nurseries president and CEO. "He's a decisive, results-oriented leader who creates a positive environment that fosters innovation, personal investment and excellence. His intimate knowledge of the company's financial workings will be instrumental in helping us continue to grow as one of the West's leading wholesale nurseries." Founded in 1976, Village Nurseries (www.villagenurseries.com) has major wholesale sales offices in Orange and Sacramento, Calif., and more than 900 acres under cultivation in growing facilities in northern and southern California. It has four specialty Landscape Centers to serve landscape professionals.
