To help prevent veteran homelessness, Homes4Families helps provide homeownership and services to low income veteran families.

With their mission to build resiliency, economic growth, neighborhoods, and homes for veteran families, the organization Homes4Families has helped over 386 low-income families acquire safe and affordable homeownership.

Homes4Families builds Veteran Enriched Neighborhoods, homes with veteran-specific modifications and services for physical, emotional and mental needs. Neighborhoods include at least 12 units, a community garden and open space for children or families. Classes and meetings are also available to promote self-sufficiency or help treat military trauma.

Impact reports have shown military families experience increased incomes as well high college attendance and high school graduation rates after one year of living in veteran communities.

Events such as team building programs allow people to purchase tickets or sponsorships to assist in building homes. To recognize women in non-traditional roles and honor women and female veterans, the organization holds an annual Women's Empowerment (WE) Build event, with this year's 12th event taking place over one week due to COVID-19. This will allow for seven days of home building rather than one to accommodate smaller groups of volunteers, limiting 50 people or less per on-site group. The event will take place in the new 56 home Veteran Enriched Neighborhood in the city of Palmdale, California, on September 12-18.
