USGBC Calls For 2020 Class of LEED Fellows

Nominations Now Open

To date, over 300 leaders have been recognized as LEED Fellows.

The U.S. Green Building Council has announced that nominations are open for the 2020 class of LEED Fellows. LEED credential holders have launched a global green building movement, according to the organization.

LEED Fellow is the highest recognition achievable for a LEED professional in the green building industry. For both seasoned leaders and rising stars, receiving the LEED Fellow designation recognizes outstanding accomplishments and marks a career high point.

Each year, Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) receives applications from a diverse and global applicant pool. Nominees' applications are evaluated by a committee of LEED Fellows through a multi-round evaluation process.

To be awarded LEED Fellow, a nominee must demonstrate at least 10 years of exceptional impact with LEED in the key mastery elements of:

• Technical Proficiency
• Education and Mentoring
• Leadership
• Commitment and Service
• Advocacy

The nomination period in 2020 has two phases:

Phase 1-Initial qualifications

Feb. 11-March 2

Nominees must submit the following:

For themselves:
• CV/resume
• Date they originally earned a LEED AP credential

For their nominator:
• Nominator's CV/resume

For each member of the application team:
• Name
• Email address
• GBCI number
• Credential held (if any)
• Credential renewal date (if any)
• Company name

Phase 2-Application period

March 3-20
