Summer Internship for Two Students in Penn.
At Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater House

Fallingwater, the famous house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935, is seeking two students, enrolled in a masters program or undergraduate program in landscape architecture, horticulture, landscape contracting, or related field of study, for a summer internship in 2019.

The position will be ten weeks long, begining in late May and lasting until early August. Due to the remote location of Fallingwater, housing on-site is provided and shared. A personal vehicle is recommended.

Interns will be paid $10 an hour, along with free housing. Food, laundry and incidentals are not provided and must be independently acquired by the interns.

The interns will be responsible for the design and installation of a project, which will be defined by the Operations Department at Fallingwater, as well as conducting daily maintenance of the grounds. The job posting states the following, "Applicants must have the ability to perform strenuous outdoor landscaping tasks in a variety of weather conditions."

Dr. George Longenecker, Professor Emeritus at West Virginia University, will meet weekly with the interns and provide direct supervision.
