Sand Mountain Park & Amphitheater is a 135-acre park in Albertville, AL, designed to provide family-friendly, public play spaces, live entertainment, and elite-level athletic facilities for the Sand Mountain region. Dix.Hite provided site planning, amenity design and full landscape and hardscape design services for the park. The design includes 7 playgrounds, a new aquatics facility with a splash pad, lazy river and pool, a dog park, RV park, and a state-of-the-art amphitheater.

 
Dix.Hite also designed the athletic field venues for softball, baseball, tennis, and adjacent multi-purpose facilities. The park opened in Spring 2021 and quickly became a destination for Albertville, Guntersville, Boaz, Crossville, and surrounding Marshall County residents.

The upcoming Parks Issue of Landscape Architect and Specifier News saw many firms submit their projects for feature consideration. This project was not chosen for a Feature in the issue, but we at LandscapeArchitect.com thought the project deserved to be showcased online . . .
