The Rhode Island Chapter of the American Society honored landscape projects and architects at their 2016-2017 Design Awards on Dec. 6.

The chapter awarded six landscape architects in the categories of Merit, Honor, Student and Special Recognition. The St. Louis Chapter of ASLA juried the awards.

RIASLA 2016-2017 Design Awards recipients:

• Merit Award in Large Scale Built Design: BETA Group for Bushnell Park North
• Honor Award for Small Scale Built Design: Kate Field and Associates for Verbena
• Student Award: Rebecca Nolan for Under the Surface: Hidden Dimensions of Drainage Landscapes
• Special Recognition: Adam Anderson for 10,000 Suns
• Special Recognition: Nathan Socha for five years of continued dedication to RIASLA
