Aliso Viejo Ranch; Aliso Viejo, CA
The last remaining portion of the original 26,000-acre Moulton Ranch in south Orange County, this 7-acre site blends restored ranch structures, agricultural programming, and public gathering spaces to connect visitors with the region's rich farming history. The project includes a new barn and foreman's house, renovations to existing buildings, orchards, walkways, seating areas, educational trails, and a permeable concrete parking lot. An aquaponics farm incorporates natural streams and ponds that support fish used to fertilize raised garden planters, demonstrating sustainable agricultural practices in an accessible setting. Throughout the property, 27 pieces of original ranch equipment are displayed with interpretive signage, preserving the legacy of the Moulton Ranch and California agriculture for future generations.

Enchanted Hills Park; Perris, CA

 
Enchanted Hills Park features are interwoven amongst weathered bedrock outcroppings and environmentally sensitive drainage areas. Despite 50 feet of elevation change, all park features are universally accessible, with very few ramps needed due to meaningful progression across changing elevation. Enchanted Hills Park is Riverside County's first candidate for SITES Accreditation and is one of five award-winning parks designed by the RHA Community Works team for the City of Perris. This project has been recognized with awards from California Park & Recreation Society, American Public Works Association, ASLA Southern California Chapter, and has been featured in National Recreation and Park Association social media publications.

Lucinda Garcia Park; Monrovia, CA
Working closely with the city and residents, the design team reimagined the park to celebrate the site's unique history and the legacy of Lucinda Garcia, a respected community figure during the civil rights movement. A custom Red Car-inspired play structure pays tribute to the historic Pacific Electric Red Car Line that once stopped at the site, complete with a ticket booth. The nature-inspired design creates opportunities for children of all ages, while interpretive elements highlight the stories of Lucinda Garcia, the Red Car Line, and the native plant garden. A mural created by a local artist celebrates the life and legacy of Lucinda Garcia and her family. Recognition: California Park & Recreation Society Award of Excellence.

City of Los Angeles ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan; Los Angeles, CA
RHA Community Works has provided ongoing Certified Access Specialist (CASp) services for the City of Los Angeles Department on Disability since 2020. Most notably, the firm has performed accessibility evaluations of over 250 Recreation and Parks facilities, 100 Fire Stations, 99 Neighborhood Council meeting sites, and hundreds of additional City owned/operated facilities, as the city compiles their ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan. Other accessibility-related services include the accessibility evaluation of emergency shelter facilities across the city. The firm is currently working with various city departments on preparation for improving accessibility for major sporting events, including FIFA World Cup Fan Zones and facilities for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In early 2026, RHA Landscape Architects - Planners, Inc. and Community Works Design Group announced their merger, using the blended name "RHA Community Works." Combining long-time competitors, the merged firm reconciles a movement initially begun in 1979, when Randy Hlubik left Hogan and Roy Partners to start Randolph Hlubik and Associates (RHA). In 1985, a Principal from RHA left to start Community Works Design Group (CWDG). Thirty years later, RHA Principal Doug Grove and CWDG Principal Scott Rice began transitioning toward full ownership of their respective companies. The two leaders recognized the potential of joining together and have become the co-owners and Managing Partners of RHA Community Works. Both Principals serve the industry on various boards, including the California Park & Recreation Society, BIA's Riverside County and San Bernadino Chapters, the California Turf and Landscape Foundation, ASLA's Southern California Chapter, and the San Bernardino County Building and Safety Appeals Board.
