Villagers in Snitterfield, England are considering bringing a private prosecution against a farmer they say is damaging trees thought to have been planted by the great 18th century landscape architect ?EUR??,,????'??Capability?EUR??,,????'?? Brown.
They allege that landowner Derek Hutsby is plowing so close to 22 trees?EUR??,,????'??+all of which are protected by a tree preservation order?EUR??,,????'??+that he?EUR??,,????'???s damaging the roots. They?EUR??,,????'???re accusing him of attempting to turn the land into ?EUR??,,????'??a prairie.?EUR??,,????'??
And the villagers are furious with Stratford District Council for allegedly failing to take the necessary action to protect the trees. One of the purposes of a private prosecution would be to ?EUR??,,????'??shame?EUR??,,????'?? the council into being more forceful in its attitude to the farmer.
