Paveshare.org Provides Curriculum on Segmental Concrete Pavements

The online educational resource, Paveshare, was started when Doug Pardue of the University of Georgia's College of Environment and Design received a multi-year grant from the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute to develop it. He assembled a team of internal and external academic faculty, online learning experts, graduate assistants, and industry professionals to create the resource's framework and content. The team then developed and revised framework and content per learning technologies, trends, and feedback.

A collaboration between the University of Georgia's College of Environment and Design and the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute has produced Paveshare, an online educational resource developed to provide students and educators an engaging, comprehensive, and actively growing set of resources on segmental concrete pavements specific to landscape architecture, including design principles, sustainable applications and material innovations.

According to its designers, Paveshare acts as a comprehensive linkage between design, technique, and construction and utilizes diverse learning modes to teach environmental concepts such as permeability, detention, and sizing; technical concepts for loading and utility such as ESALs, soil conditions, and contexts; and construction drawing and implementation concepts such as drawing sets, details, and links to professional resources.

Developed and reviewed by academics and professionals, Paveshare is open to contributions from educators and students, which is incorporated into its resource structure.
