The Symposium on Standards Development for Cement and Concrete for Use in Additive Construction has put out a call for abstracts that address the issues of potential test methods for additive construction, which may be standardized through ASTM International's standards development process.

The symposium, scheduled for December 7-8, 2020, at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld in Florida is sponsored by the ASTM International committees on cement (C01) and concrete and concrete aggregates (C09) and will be held in conjunction with the December standards development meetings of the committees.

Topics for this symposium include, but are not limited to:
• Measurements of early-age material properties (prior to initial setting)

 
- Rheology (viscosity and yield stress),
- Setting time,
- Shape stability
• Measurements of hardened properties
- Compressive strength,
- Bending strength,
- Tensile strength,
- Durability
• Measurements of structural performance
- Confirming sufficient structural performance (strength and serviceability),
- Conventional methods vs. reinforcement techniques (fibers, 3D-printed materials, rebar)

To participate in the symposium, authors must submit a 250 to 300-word abstract using the online Abstract Submittal Form no later than June 5, 2020.
