TreeTown USA, a grower with 18 facilities totaling over 6,000 production acres across Texas, Florida, Oregon, and California, recently announced it has acquired one of the leading horticulture automation companies, Midas Nursery Solutions of Hillsboro, Oregon for an undisclosed amount. The agreement represents TreeTown USA's first acquisition that doesn't consist of a nursery operation and further solidifies its continuing commitment to deploying the most advanced automation, mechanization, and lean practices available in the industry. According to TreeTown USA CEO Jonathan Saperstein, "Having Midas as a part of the family will go a long way in helping us develop, implement and institutionalize industry leading solutions to mechanization and lean practices. What's more, this expanded relationship will allow us to better capitalize on Midas' capabilities and values that they have continued to demonstrate over the years of our work with them." Matt Gold, Midas Nursery Solutions president, commented, "The opportunity to continue my work alongside the excellent leadership team at TreeTown USA and have access to TreeTown USA's tremendous resources to help them achieve their objectives was something I just couldn't pass up." Going forward, Midas, as a subsidiary of TreeTown USA, will no longer support outside companies and will concentrate on supporting its parent company. With the acquisition, Gold will assume direct responsibility for TreeTown USA's industrial engineering and project teams.
