From 2021 to the first half of 2022, the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) reports that parks and recreation professionals saw a median of around a 3% pay increase. This information comes from a NRPA report that not only details various job titles' salaries in the parks industry, but also gives detailed comparisons between demographics and characteristics of different positions. The survey catalogued over 500 parks and recreation agencies in order to compile their statistics.

 

Kevin Roth, NRPA vice president of research, evaluation and technology said, "Attracting and retaining skilled park and recreation professionals is of the utmost importance to preserving the overall health and wellness of our communities." Roth continues by highlighting the importance of the work that parks and recreation professionals perform.
