In February, the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) named Bart Melton as its new wildlife program director. The duties of the wildlife program director include coordinating the association's campaigns across the country and promoting the long-term conservation of wildlife in national parks. Melton has worked on wildlife issues at NCPA for thirteen years. He most recently served as the director of the association's Northern Rockies region in Montana.During that time, Melton worked as the Yellowstone Park program manager. His team was mainly involved in wildlife preservation campaigns, focusing on the native species in the park. Melton was influential in preventing the Yellowstone grizzly from being removed from the endangered species list.
