NJLCA Updates Non-Essential Construction Order

Executive Order 122 from the State of New Jersey's Governor's Office

The New Jersey Landscape Contractors Association is asking industry professionals to do their part and follow the rules put in place to prevent industry interruptions.

The New Jersey Landscape Contractors Association updated the executive order details from the Governor's office on non-essential construction.

• Maintenance including cutting grass, weed wacking and leaf blowing (including cleanups) - OK to continue

• Install patios, walkways, pools, etc - NOT PERMITTED, unless project has begun before Friday at 8:00 pm or there is an emergency fix to the front walkway

• Install plantings, including flowers and shrubs - OK to continue

• Install irrigation systems - NOT PERMITTED, unless project has begun before Friday at 8:00 pm. System startups and emergency repairs are permitted.

• Perform pruning and trimming - OK

• Provide weed and pest control services - OK

• Put down mulch or top dress - OK

• Install sod or seed lawns - OK (however, note that irrigation systems cannot be installed, so this would be at the discretion of the company if they can properly irrigate).

Social distancing rules will continue as well as a maximum of 5 crew members on site and masks or face coverings and gloves must be provided and worn. It is also recommended to stagger start and lunch times to prevent close contact between employees.
