The International Code Council and the board of the International Accreditation Service Inc. (IAS) announced Raj Nathan as the new IAS president on Oct. 31. Nathan will be taking the place of C.P. "Chuck" Ramani by March 2018. Ramani is retiring after spending four decades in the fields of global conformity assessment and construction code enforcement. The IAS is a nonprofit corporation and subsidiary of the International Code Council that provides accreditation for government entities, commercial business and other organizations. Nathan has been at IAS for 15 years and has more than 30 years of experience in accreditation assessment. "Raj has been a dedicated member of the IAS team and an important factor in the remarkable growth of the organization for many years, and we all look forward to working with him closely during this transition and beyond," said James G. Toscas, IAS board of directors chair. Nathan previously served as senior vice president for IAS where he oversaw the daily performances of the corporation. He has lead international projects and expanded business operations in Asia, the Middle East and South America. "Raj's appointment as president is the culmination of many years of hard work and commitment to IAS," said Dominic Sims, International Code Council CEO. "Under his vision and leadership, we're sure to see a continued focus on quality services, customer satisfaction and global growth."
