The American Society of Concrete Contractors' Emerging Leaders Committee has formed a mentor advisory board to help its members with questions like business development and management. The board is comprised of nine ASCC members who have years of experience in concrete contracting and management. Members that call ASCC with questions will be scheduled to speak with a specific board member who has the knowledge to provide the needed advice."The people on the advisory board were specially selected for their expertise in those various areas," said ASCC executive director Beverly Garnant. "They've been in business a long time and have a lot of experience."The mentor advisory board's purpose is to provide answers for quick questions and is separate from ASCC's mentor program, which pairs less experienced members with concrete construction professionals. "Part of the culture of ASCC is information sharing from member to member so we try to facilitate that as in many ways as possible," Garnant said.
