The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) announced that they are supporting Representative Correa's "Promoting Reduction of Emissions Through Landscaping Equipment Act." This legislation aims to facilitate landscaping businesses of all sizes in transitioning to zero-emission equipment through the provision of a federal tax credit.
Under this bill, businesses can avail a substantial 40% credit on the purchase of zero-emission equipment, including mowers, leaf blowers, hedgers, and accessories, up to $25,000 annually and up to $100,000 over ten consecutive years. The tax credit, applicable to equipment bought from January 1, 2023, extends to retrofitting gas-powered devices to zero-emission.
Britt Wood, CEO of NALP, commended Rep. Correa, stating, "This bill... is an important model for legislation supporting the business community while also protecting the environment." Wood emphasizes the bill's significance in helping landscape companies offset the costs of transitioning to eco-friendly equipment, praising Correa's leadership on the issue.
NALP extends its appreciation to federal and state allies, including organizations like the American Lung Association, Environmental Defense Fund, Sierra Club, and others, for endorsing the "Promoting Reduction of Emissions Through Landscaping Equipment Act."
