Bill Gundlach, owner of Spring-Green Lawn Care of Cicero, Ill., is this year?EUR??,,????'???s winner of the Community Service award from the Professional Lawn Care Association of America.

Lawrence P. Jaworski, an active member of the Chesapeake Water Environment Association (CWEA), has been elected president of the Water Environment Federation (WEF), an international technical, scientific, and educational water quality organization. Lynn Orphan, an active member of the Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA), is president-elect of the WEF.

The Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA) is proud to announce the exterior award recipients for its 34th Annual Environmental Improvement Awards program. Decade Award recipients include: AAA Landscape - Tucson, Maintenance Division, Tucson, Ariz.; Bland Landscaping Company, Inc., Apex, N.C.; TechScape, Inc., Richardson, Texas; TruGreen LandCare Mid-Atlantic Region, Ashton, Md.; and ValleyCrest Landscape Maintenance, Calabasas, Calif.

Turfgrass Producers International (TPI) has announced that Ed Zuckerman was elected president of the organization. Prior to his election as president, he was vice president, having been first elected to the 11-person board in 1992. Art Campbell was elected vice-president, Warren Bell was voted in as secretary-treasurer, and new board members include: Norm DeBuck, Bobby Winstead and Bob Weerts.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers has named Megan Carpentier as manager of government affairs. Prior to joining AEM, Carpentier worked for the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association in state and federal affairs.

Ronnie Farrar assumed the position of president of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, succeeding Randy Reid. Previously, Farrar served as IESNA regional vice president for the Southeastern region.

Carole Baker, Don Weiss and Jerry Lewis have been appointed to the Texas Turf Irrigation Association irrigator advisory council.

John Deere Landscapes has named two new regional sales representatives to oversee nursery and agricultural irrigation system sales and marketing in the southeastern United States. Michael Maggard will handle sales in southern Alabama, northern Florida, southern Georgia and southern Mississippi. Steve Mullican will direct sales in northern Alabama, northern Georgia and Tennessee.

Robert Shields has been named regional field technical specialist for Vista Professional Outdoor Lighting. Shields will be based in Wilmington, N.C. and will cover Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

Timothy Shaffer, customer service manager for ALLscape, a division of JJI Lighting Group, Inc., has been promoted to national sales manager.

Paul Krishnan has been promoted to vice president of Tecumseh Products Company?EUR??,,????'???s Engine & Transmission Group. Krishnan previously was group controller for the Engine & Transmission Group, which is based in Grafton, Wis. He is a certified public accountant and has extensive experience in finance, strategic planning and business development, forecasting and budgeting.

Schiller-Pfeiffer, Inc., manufacturer of Little Wonder and Mantis Landscaping and Gardening Power Equipment, announced the hiring of Stuart Bryan as president. Bryan brings nearly two decades of leadership experience to SPI, with a strong background in manufacturing and distribution. Most recently, Bryan held the top spot at Drexel Industries, LLC a manufacturer of multi-purpose lift trucks in Horsham, PA. Bryan holds a bachelors in economics and an MBA from Harvard University.

The Canadian Standards Association (CSA), which develops safety, quality and performance standards for consumer products in Canada, has selected Arv Hille, technical director for the Oregon Cutting Systems Group of Blount, Inc., to receive its Award of Merit for 2003.

Profile Products LLC, the leading manufacturer of erosion control products and inorganic soil amendments, announces the promotion of Joe Betulius as vice president, sales. In his new position, Betulius will oversee the Profile sales team, as well as serve on Profile?EUR??,,????'???s leadership team.

CompuScapes has announced the appointment of Brent Totman to its sales and management team. Totman has more than 25 years of experience in the green industry and corporate information systems management.
