Jack Caldwell, a former president of the New Jersey Landscape Contractors Association, died on October 10. He was 80 years old. He founded Caldwell's Suburban Gardens and retired after over 40 years as an excavating contractor. He was also a charter member of the Bergen County Landscape Contractors Association, which later became the NJLCA. In addition to his work as a landscaper, Caldwell served in the US Army and Army Reserve from 1955-61. He served as an airplane mechanic in Korea. He was also a member of the American Legion Leroy S.
