Meadowbrook Park - the City of Arlington's first park - celebrated its centennial in 2024. Located in central Arlington, the 54-acre park sits within two miles of major regional destinations, including AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field, and The University of Texas at Arlington. Many of the park's amenities lie within the Johnson Creek floodway and include the Meadowbrook Recreation Center, a basketball court, Arlington's first municipal golf course, and a range of active and passive recreation spaces.

Centrally located within the park, Meadowbrook Park Playground is a one-acre space that demonstrates how inclusive play can be thoughtfully integrated into an established, multi-use park environment. Envisioned as a community destination within the phased master plan, the playground serves users of all abilities while considering adjacent amenities and floodway constraints. The design prioritizes equitable access through inclusive equipment, accessible circulation, and play experiences scaled for a wide range of ages and abilities. In addition, the playground incorporates varied sensory experiences, offering opportunities for visual engagement, tactile exploration, and auditory interaction to support different sensory preferences and needs. Thoughtful surfacing design, equipment selection, and strategic topography provide a playful response to the surrounding park landscape. Together, these elements demonstrate how inclusive and sensory-aware design can elevate parks into meaningful community spaces and set a benchmark for future playground development.
