LASN 2023 Yearbook

2023 Year in Review
This year marked the third anniversary of launching the firm, and it has been an incredible journey so far. Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, we managed to stay focused on our mission of serving communities and caring for the outdoor environments they inhabit.

We worked on diverse projects, from therapeutic gardens for patients to universally accessible playgrounds for children 2-12 years old.
One of our most fulfilling projects was a Therapeutic Garden for Patients at Walden Behavioral Care Clinic in Dedham. We provided four concept options for the garden, and the staff has been expanding the program from planting seeds, to harvesting crops, to cooking and painting with natural plant pigments. It has been heartwarming to see the positive impact of this project on the patients' mental health.
Another project that was a success in the making, despite all the challenges encountered, is Dean Park playground in Shrewsbury.
The project took two years to complete for several reasons, including issues with supply and demand of materials necessary for retrofitting new play components and a construction labor shortage during the pandemic. However, with a strong team, we managed these obstacles and delivered a playground that the Shrewsbury community could enjoy.
I set out to start m3 Land studio as a studio operating on an open-ended work process without preconceived results. I believe that this approach allows us to better serve our landscapes and the people that inhabit them. We are committed to building meaningful synergies with our clients, users, and the local society and environment. I am proud of what we have accomplished in the past year and excited about what the future holds for m3 Land studio LLC. Thank you for your support and trust in our work.
Sincerely,
Mariana Mariscal, PLA, ASLA
