Shoreview Commons, Shoreview Commons, Minnesota

From master planning through design and construction, LHB has helped revitalize Shoreview Commons, which serves as the community's central park and campus for its city hall and community center. A new destination playground, event space with a pond/skating rink, and skatepark draw residents together throughout the year.

The Heights, St. Paul, Minnesota

The Heights is a transformation redevelopment project on Saint Paul's Greater East Side, aimed at creating a sustainable community with 1,000 affordable homes and 1,000 jobs. LHB is assisting the Saint Paul Port Authority with planning this net-zero carbon community and providing the landscape architectural design for its unique and interconnected public realm.

Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota

Construction is underway at Carleton College for a student housing expansion project. LHB designed 11 new student housing buildings and is providing the landscape architectural design for the surrounding campus to create sustainable places for all students to live, learn, and feel at home.?This Phius registered project helps Carleton College meet its goal of becoming a carbon-free campus by the year 2050.

Wayzata Promenade, Wayzata, Minnesota

Once a blighted strip mall surrounded by a parking lot, new streets divide the 14-acre site into six blocks, focused on welcoming places to walk and gather, including event spaces, occupiable green roofs, and a variety of streets and sidewalks. Innovative features throughout the project improve the quality of water that eventually flows into Lake Minnetonka.? After more than a decade of planning, design, and construction, LHB helped the client and community realize their vision and surpass expectations.

Lakewalk Renewal & Brighton Beach Resiliency Masterplan, Duluth, Minnesota

The masterplan focuses on revitalization goals for the Lakewalk trail and park areas with an emphasis on sustainability. Working with the city, LHB developed conceptual designs that retreat away from the damaging waves of Lake Superior, and rewild the terrain to a natural North Shore coastal forest. Once implemented, the improvements will reduce long-term maintenance needs and restore the shoreline to a more sustainable and resilient landscape.

Highway 53 Streetscape & Visual Quality Planning, International Falls, Minnesota

With the help of the local community, LHB established the desired visual character for the Highway 53 corridor by defining key design features that highlighted the local culture and fit into the surrounding landscape. Constructed in 2020-2021, the updated streetscape includes a new shared-use path, increased greenspace, improved traveler experience, and a better overall visual consistency throughout the corridor.

Lake Superior Plaza, Duluth, Minnesota

Lake Superior Plaza anchors a prime intersection in downtown Duluth. Newly revitalized with sustainability in mind, the plaza now provides a place for visitors to rest and relax and serves as a hub for community events for residents and tourists alike.
