Jennifer Guthrie, FASLA, has been named president-elect for the Landscape Architecture Foundation, a nonprofit association that supports the preservation, improvement and enhancement of the environment.

The Landscape Architecture Foundation has announced the Board of Directors for 2015-2016.

President-Elect: Jennifer Guthrie, FASLA, of Gustafson Guthrie Nichol

"I am honored to work with the Landscape Architecture Foundation board and staff to envision the next 50 years of LAF's mission to support the preservation, improvement, and enhancement of the environment," said Jennifer Guthrie, president-elect.

"We are delighted to have Jennifer in this critical leadership role at such a historic time, as LAF moves into its 50th anniversary and the launch of several major initiatives," said LAF Executive Director Barbara Deutsch, FASLA. "Jennifer's experience, energy and business savvy will be invaluable as we scale up to make a greater impact."

LAF extends its thanks to those board members who have now retired from their roles, and welcomes its new and returning vice presidents.

The new board began its term on November 6 with the annual board meeting held in Chicago.

LAF's core programs communicate the importance of landscape architecture to a broader audience and help to cultivate the next generation of design leaders. The Landscape Performance Series brings together research and innovations from academia, industry, and professional practice in one online hub: LandscapePerformance.org. Over 100 case studies have been produced through LAF's Case Study Investigation program, a research collaboration that measures and documents the benefits of exemplary, high-performing landscape projects. LAF also offers scholarships, fellowships, and awards.
