Over the last year or so there have been numerous articles in various media indicating a trend for home owners to add amenities to their backyards?EUR??,,????'?????<??oespas, decks, barbeque stations and the latest?EUR??,,????'?????<??oefire pits.
This is good to hear, considering much home news over the last year has been about foreclosures.
We had to smile, though, at a recent online item about adding a fire pit to the backyard. The timing seemed odd, given that summer is only a couple weeks off, but the sidebar to the article, nearly as long as the written piece, warns homeowners about the pitfalls of fire pits. Most of this advice falls into the ?EUR??,,????'?????<?Duh!?EUR??,,????'?????<? category:

Note: Kidding aside, you editor does know of one adolescent who was ?EUR??,,????'?????<?goofing around?EUR??,,????'?????<? and fell into a fire pit at the beach. He leapt out of the pit about as fast as he fell in. He was okay, except for a few minor burns. That adolescent is now in his mid-twenties and has not fallen into a fire pit since.
