Bipartisan attempts to construct a bill that would deliver extra funds for the construction and renovation of the U.S.'s crumbling infrastructure are not dead yet as CNBC recently reported that a meeting with President Trump House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is planned to take place Tuesday to, ostensibly, discuss those issues. It is widely believed that a new infrastructure plan would be one of the few things that both parties could get behind and pass. Pelosi reconfirmed her optimism recently as did Trump. At the Time 100 Summit last week, the speaker stated, "We'll be meeting with the president next week when we come back to talk about what the prospect is for the size, in terms of resources and scope of what that might be." Governing.com reports that according to the American Society of Civil Engineers, an investment of $2.2 trillion is what is needed to thoroughly modernize our current infrastructure systems.
