Landscape professionals in Montgomery County, Md., and surrounding areas are invited to take classes at Montgomery College this summer. Starting June 5, the Landscape Technology Program is offering a class on Herbaceous Plant Materials, covering annuals, perennials, and ornamental grasses, focusing on their uses in the landscape. The class meets on the Germantown campus Monday evenings from June 5 to August 14, with a lecture from 6 – 8:30 p.m. and a lab from 8:35 – 9:35 p.m. The class includes Saturday field trips to Longwood Gardens, U.S. Botanic Gardens, and Brookside Gardens. Businesses or other organizations that do business in the state of Maryland may be eligible to enter into an agreement with the college that affords employees or members tuition and fees at the in-county residence rate, regardless of where they live. Seniors age 60 or older in Maryland are eligible for a senior tuition waiver. For more information or to register for the class, visit montgomerycollege.edu.
