IECA Becomes a Provider of the RCEP Program
An Educator of Erosion Control

The RCEP program recognizes nationwide providers of continuing education. IECA has met the program's requirements and offers opportunities for professionals to receive technical education credit.

Recently announced, the American Council of Engineering Companies has approved the International Erosion Control Association Region One as a provider in the Registered Continuing Education Provider (RCEP) program. As a result of the approval, IECA can provide more continuing education Professional Development Hours, or PDH.

The RCEP Program consists of providers that exhibit commitment to "high-quality, effective practices in the development and delivery of professional education" for those of the architecture, engineering and construction professions, as well as for engineers and surveyors.

To qualify as a provider for the program:
• Education must have related learning objectives.
• Current, accurate activities are a must and should be created by experienced individuals of educational activity development and content.
• Activities must also be presented as live and/or distance learning. Each will be classified as core technical content, ethics or business practices.
• Courses will be evaluated to determine if the objectives have been met.
• Courses are required to be one PDH in length.

"We've looked for additional avenues for our educational offerings to meet more and more needs of members," stated Sharan Wilson, IECA executive director. "Being an RCEP provider is the next step in that evolution."
