IDA Celebrates 30 Years With Annual General Meeting
Submissions Are Open for Abstract

The annual meeting is an opportunity for members, supporters and scientists to come together and share new developments in the fight against nighttime pollution.

The International Dark Sky Association will hold their 30th annual meeting at Snowbird Retreat in Utah Nov. 9-11. This year's general meeting will be a celebration of the association's 30-year anniversary.

Topics that will be covered at the meeting include:
• Economic benefits of dark skies: The ways businesses, municipalities and individuals benefit from dark skies.
• Science of dark skies: Research and studies related to light pollution and nighttime conservation.
• Advocating for dark skies: Increasing public awareness about light pollution and how successful the campaigns have been.
• Policies for dark skies: How to support, write and maintain public policies that protect the nighttime environment.
• Technology for dark skies: What technologies are being used to preserve dark skies?
• Inspiration from dark skies: Stories that will continue to inspire the community to stand up for natural environments.

IDA members and supporters will have the opportunity to network with other chapters and support the mission of the IDA.

Abstracts are being accepted for presentation at the meeting. Presentations can be lectures, interactive workshops or posters. All accepted abstract presenters would receive 50 percent off their registration cost.

The deadline to submit is Jun. 28.
