Native Planting Design Best Practices and Clients by Staff
Assistant Horticulture Professor at Pennsylvania College of Technology, Carl Bower Jr, presented a live and recorded webinar to professionals from across the country to learn about native planting best practices. Bower discussed the misconceptions surrounding native plants and how client's neighbors and HOAs alike need to be educated about the "cue to care" and how this style of planting can attract welcome visitors like pollinators. He went on to give examples of traditional and native plantings and how there can be a happy medium that can be both aesthetically pleasing and manageable with the proper knowledge. Bower also gave practical design principles that can be implemented into each and every design professional's arsenal.
