Newly released statistics for new residential construction in September shows housing completions were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,413,000, which is 15.3 percent above the revised August estimate of 1,226,000.

 

The September figure is also above last year's rate of 1,123,000, for the same month, by 25.8 percent. At a rate of 921,000 and 2.1 percent above the revised August rate of 902,000 was September single-family housing completions. September completions for units in buildings with five units or more was also up at a rate of 480,000.
