Advanced Turf Solutions, a distributor of fertilizers, chemicals, grass seed, ice melt, and more to the lawn care and landscape industries among others, recently acquired Michigan area distributor Tri-Turf. The buyer already services Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, West Virginia, western Pennsylvania, and adjacent counties, and now has locations in Traverse City, and Grand Ledge, Michigan, where all their core product lines and brands will be available. The seller's president, Tom Reed, Sr., will retire but their vice president, Robert Reed, and his existing team of support and sales staff will remain.

Construction equipment rental and repair company H&E Equipment Services has opened its 79th branch in Loveland, Colo., which is near Fort Collins. The 15,295-square-foot facility plans to provide service not only to customers in northern Colorado, but also southeastern Wyoming and western Nebraska with an eight-bay repair area and a parts warehouse. New and used equipment sales and mobile repair services will also be offered.

John Deere announced they are in the works to acquire the Wirtgen Group, a global supplier of construction equipment. The plans are to maintain the new division's existing brands, management, manufacturing footprint, employees and distribution network. The combined business is expected to benefit from sharing best practices in manufacturing and technology and make the equipment available to more markets and geographies.
