Through the National Recreation and Park Association's Great Urban Parks Campaign, a total of $2 million in grant funding has been given to 10 communities around the United States in order to support green infrastructure projects. The communities will collaborate with major cities such as Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Denver to focus on "heat island effect, food insecurity and improved access to waterways, trails and play."
