This is a newly developed, 3.79-acre neighborhood park that opened on March 22, 2024. The park includes the following amenities: a farm-themed playground with a sunflower grove, barn with weathervane, strawberry climber, overhead ladder, slides, activity panels, and music. The playground also includes swings, bee and ladybug spring riders, a larger-than-life frog, a climbable tomato vine, a tractor, hay bales, and kegs. The park also includes a group picnic area with shade structure, BBQ grill, open turf area for a bantam soccer field, a full basketball court, two turf volleyball courts, a table tennis and two cornhole games, drinking fountain, walkways, bike trail, landscaping and shade trees, picnic tables and benches throughout the park. Fong Ranch Park is named after Fong Ranch, a 360-acre farm previously located on the park site and the surrounding area since 1925. The Fongs, a Chinese-American family, purchased and farmed the land, which is located at the southwest corner at Truxel and San Juan Roads. The Fong Ranch grew alfalfa, tomatoes, sugar beets, and grains, mainly for canneries. The Fong Ranch legacy is one of strong family ties, entrepreneurial experience, teaching family values in Chinese traditions, education, and the dream of coming to the Gold Mountain.
