Hard Rock Resort, Hollywood, Florida
A new irrigation system was designed to fit seamlessly into the existing irrigation system at the Hard Rock Resort Hollywood. The Demolition and Lifeline irrigation plans kept the existing landscapes watered while the construction team carved out existing landscapes in the resort expansion area. The existing pump station and central irrigation control system were upgraded, and low angle nozzles were used around pools and guest areas to reduce over spray on walks and into water features.
Gaylord Palms Resort, Orlando, Florida
This resort has three acres of interior landscapes with no rainfall, ever. The owner suggested a low-volume drip irrigation system which was ideal for the interior spaces. Water pressure regulation and water filtration are important parts of this successful application. The resort irrigation system is operated by a weather based central control system and uses reclaimed water for the 25 acres of exterior landscapes.
Baha Mar Resort and Royal Blue Golf, Nassau, Bahamas

This project is the home of three resort hotels. Baha Mar resorts share the amenities of the largest gaming casino in the Caribbean and a Jack Nicklaus golf course, Royal Blue Golf Club. PSI started the irrigation design to reroute the Cable Beach Roadway around and through the Baha Mar development. We then designed the golf irrigation system which included specification of the golf and landscape pump stations, water distribution lines and service points throughout the development. The resort amenity areas, lazy river, tennis club and open spaces, make the largest part of the landscape irrigation system.
Universal's Volcano Bay, Universal Resort Florida
This was PSI's second project irrigating the landscapes around a volcano, and the biggest. At Volcano Bay a booster pump was used to reach the irrigation zones on the higher elevations of the tallest water slide in America, 135 feet tall. A walk cooling system with specialty nozzles along the walkway was one of the first times we intentionally sprayed water onto the paving.
Alys Beach Community, Alys Beach, Forida
PSI provided irrigation master planning and construction documents for the Bermuda/Paros stylized Alys Beach community. The architects and developers asked PSI to develop cutting edge water saving irrigation approaches for uniquely designed land patterns. The small planted spaces between pavers are drip irrigated, putting water at the plant root zone, rather than overhead irrigated that would cover more paving than plantings.

We are a landscape architecture firm located in Celebration, providing professional irrigation design services for other landscape architects since 1986. While narrowly focused in irrigation design, the firm is strikingly diverse in clients, projects, and staff. Founded by Mike Prevost, ASLA, in 1986, the company has grown from a one-man office into a multi-national team working on projects in the United States, Middle East, and Asia. PSI specializes in irrigation designs for golf courses, theme parks, resorts, communities, and large commercial developments. Using expertise as LEED accredited professionals, PSI designers apply principles of water conservation while maintaining a high standard of excellence for technical design and aesthetics. With a staff as diverse as their client base, PSI puts to use decades of irrigation design knowledge to successfully meet clients' needs. Mike Prevost manages the Celebration Florida studio while Jeff Stamper manages the Sydney and Hong Kong studios.

Editor's Note: With the ASLA annual meeting and EXPO in Miami canceled this year due to safety concerns amid the COVID-19 health pandemic, LASN still wanted to highlight the landscape architectural work of firms from the southeast region. LASN asked the firms to send us a short biographical profile, plus photography from selected projects, with a brief description of the design work for each project. We let the firms speak for themselves in their profiles and in describing the projects, although some editing was required because of space restraints and not all photography and projects could be included. Thank you, firms of Florida and Alabama for participating!
