Dana Brown, of Dana Brown & Associates, received her nomination for 'Service' from the Louisiana Chapter. Dana's pro bono design work"?ufor nonprofit organizations, churches, and neighborhood groups"?uranges from small gardens to community center expansions. Her project contributions to those in need in the New Orleans area include the Lafitte Greenway master plan; a sensory garden for autistic children; water management and master plans for parks in Hollygrove and Hoffman Triangle; and EPA water-quality monitoring and education at three schools. As a volunteer on public panels and boards, she teaches community leaders about the importance of stormwater management and demonstrates the role landscape architects play in regional planning and development. She is an inspiring and consummate professional who places education and service above all else.
