The Ohio Department of Agriculture recently reported new infestations of emerald ash borer in Delaware and Ottawa counties. In Ottawa county, officials discovered an infested ash tree at a campground in the area. In Delaware county, a concerned citizen tipped officials off to an infested tree. They say it is likely that both infestations started as a result of the transportation of ash tree materials from quarantined areas. ODA has encouraged the public to assist them in battling EAB by refraining from moving firewood and ash tree materials out of those areas.
