Dale Jaeger, FASLA passed away on October 9, 2024. She was a decorated Landscape Architect and committed member to the professional community.

Dale Jaeger, FASLA passed away on October 9, 2024, at the age of 74 while attending the ASLA Conference in Washington, D.C.

Jaeger had a prominent role in the landscape architecture community, from serving as the President of the Georgia Chapter of the ASLA in 2006 to serving as Chair-Elect for the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board (LAAB). She has also served as a juror for the ASLA National Awards Program and for the Council of Fellows.

Jaeger first pursued an English degree at Brenau College in Gainesville, GA and graduated in 1973. Two years later, she pivoted and began a master's in landscape architecture (MLA) from University of Georgia, where she met her fellow classmate and future husband, Robert Jaeger, who she married in 1976. She then worked for the Georgia Mountain Regional Planning Commission for six years before opening The Jaeger Company (TJC) in 1984. In 1999, she was honored by the ASLA in being named a Fellow. She continued leading TJC until selling in 2014 and continuing to practice with the new firm, WLA Studio.

Beyond her professional work, Jaeger also served on the Dean's Council at the University of Georgia and made 17 accreditation visits to universities across the nation with landscape architecture programs under the Roster of Visiting Evaluators (ROVE).

She was slated to become the Chair of the LAAB in January 2025.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, her daughter, Garland, and her two grandsons.

A celebration of life and reception will be held at Gainesville Botanical Gardens from 11am-1pm on October 26, 2024.

The family has coordinated memorial trees to be planted in her memory, which can be done via Legacy.com.
