National Electric Highway Coalition Looks to Create Fast EV Charging by End of 2023 by
The newly created National Electric Highway Coalition seeks to create a national network of fast electric vehicle charging ports by 2023 to build greater confidence. The coalition, which is created by 51 investor-owned electric companies, an electric cooperative, and the Tennessee Valley Authority, estimates that the country will need more than 100,000 EV fast charging ports to support the 22 million EVs expected to operate on U.S. roads by 2030. It is estimated that Edison Electric Institute companies have invested more than $3 billion in EV charging infrastructure projects and other programs to date.
