CLARB Selects New CEO

Begins New Role on November 1

Miller brings nearly 20 years of association experience to the position.

The Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards' board of irectors has announced that it named Matthew M. Miller as its new chief executive officer. Miller will succeed Colin Rorrie, Interim CEO, and Joel Albizo, who resigned as CEO in March 2019 following nearly 12 years of service.

According to CLARB, Miller brings 18 years of mission-driven association executive experience to the organization. Previously, Miller served as executive director and CEO of the American Welding Society in Miami, Florida where he previously served as chief operating officer.

Miller was also the chief operating officer of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers International in Houston, Texas and as director of the Society of Automotive Engineers Foundation and Pre-Professional Programs in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He served in Operation Desert Storm and earned an M.S. in. Nonprofit Management from Robert Morris University, an M.S. in Instructional Technology from Duquesne University, and a B.S. in Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

"We were very impressed with Matt's leadership success and believe he is the right person to advance CLARB and its members to even greater achievement."
