BSLA Names 2018 Design Award Winners
To Be Honored May 22

The Boston Society of Landscape Architects announced the winners of the 2019 BSLA Design Awards Program. There are several repeat-winners on the list of honorees. Honor and Merit Awards were presented to the following landscape architecture firms:

Two Honor Awards in Analysis and Planning were awarded to Sasaki Associates for the following projects:
• A 21st Century Research District for ASU (Mesa, Ariz.)
• Kabul Citywide Framework (Kabul, Afghanistan)

Merit Awards in Analysis and Planning were awarded to:
• STIMSON for Florence Griswold Museum | The Artists' Trail (Old Lyme, Conn.)
• Stoss Landscape Urbanism for Moakley Park Vision Plan (Boston)
• Sasaki Associates for Chengdu Panda Reserve (Chengdu, Sichuan, China) and Gulf State Park Master Plan (Gulf Shores, Ala.)
• Dodson & Flinker for Montauk Hamlet Master Plan (East Hampton, N.Y.)

A Merit Award in Research was awarded to:
• Sasaki Associates for Shifting Gears: Design for Autonomous Vehicles (Boston)

Merit Awards in Design were awarded to:
• STIMSON for Cider Ridge Farm (Wilton, Conn.), Rockport Residence (Rockport, Mass.), Williams College North Campus Restoration (Williamstown, Mass.) and Boston College Historic Campus Core (Chestnut Hill, Mass.)
• Crosby | Schlessinger | Smallridge for One Greenway (Boston, Mass.)
• Ground, Inc. for Tontine Crescent (Boston) and Collaborative Learning and Innovation Center (Medford, Mass.)
• Dan Gordon Landscape Architects for Pond's Edge Estate (Chestnut Hill, Mass.)
• G2 Collaborative for Harvard Yard Child Care Center (Cambridge, Mass.)
• Klopfer Martin Design Group for Central Square East Boston (East Boston, Mass.) and Hoyt Sullivan Playground (Somerville, Mass.)
• Regenerative Design Group for Fowler Clark Epstein Urban Farm (Boston)

Merit Awards in Student Work were awarded to:
• Qiaoqi Dai and Chengzhang Zhang from Harvard Graduate School of Design for "Across Racial and Infrastructural Boundaries"
• Jonathan Kuhr, Koby Moreno, Haoyu Zhao and Sijia Zhong from Harvard Graduate School of Design for "Airport Archipelago"
• Alexandra DiStefano, Sophie Elias and Jonathon Koewler from Harvard Graduate School of Design for "Aggregated Inundation"
• Xiwei Shen, Jiawen Chen and Chengzhe Zhang from Harvard Graduate School of Design for "Bloom! A Dynamic Landscape Biological System"
• Chengzhe Zhang from Harvard Graduate School of Design for "Oasis + Productive Settlement"
• Xiwei Shen from Harvard Graduate School of Design for "The Forehead of Arlington National Cemetery"
