The Monterey; Corona, CA
BMLA designed the amenity spaces for this luxury residential community in Corona, creating a resort-inspired environment that promotes connection, wellness, and outdoor living. Signature features include two pool complexes, stylish cabanas, outdoor grilling areas, fire pits, movie lawns, and gathering spaces that encourage social interaction. Lush landscaping, a citrus orchard, an edible garden, a dog park, and a pet spa further enrich the resident experience, transforming the community into a vibrant destination for recreation and relaxation.Photo Credit: Val Dostalek
NUVO at Parkside; Ontario, CA
NUVO at Parkside is a master planned community with four distinctive neighborhoods inspired by the farmhouse character of Ontario Ranch. BMLA used that inspiration to create four plant palettes - Urban Farmland, Innovative Grassland, European Interpretive, and Southern Mediterranean - that accent each neighborhood while retaining a unifying thread to connect each neighborhood to the internal streetscape. A walkable pedestrian connection connects the residences through paseos and small gathering spaces to the Great Park and the Cucamonga Trail. Elegant materials and colors were selected for the gated entry and rec center, which includes an event lawn, dog park, pool and spa, tot lot, barbecue, and firepit area.Photo Credit: John Leonffu
Park and Vista Apartments; Los Angeles, CA
Western Station; Los Angeles, CA
BMLA transformed the rooftop of this high-density residential renovation in downtown Los Angeles into a dynamic outdoor amenity destination that enhances the urban living experience. Through careful planning and close coordination with the project team, the rooftop was designed to accommodate a resort-style pool and social gathering areas while maximizing functionality within a constrained environment. A variety of intimate seating spaces, landscaped terraces, and outdoor lounges provide residents with opportunities to relax, connect, and enjoy sweeping views of the city skyline, creating a distinctive retreat above the urban core.

BMLA partnered with the American Indian Alaska Native Veterans Memorial Committee, Riverside National Cemetery, and the Morongo Band of Mission Indians to create a commemorative plaza honoring Native American veterans. Centered around a 40-foot-diameter gathering space, the memorial features granite seating blocks that invite reflection on the service and sacrifice of thousands of Native American men and women who have served the nation. A dry creek bed and native plantings were thoughtfully incorporated to celebrate the natural landscapes and cultural traditions that are deeply rooted in Native American heritage.Photo Credit: BMLA, Inc.
Miller Park Veterans Memorial; Fontana, CA
BMLA partnered with the City of Fontana to design a memorial at Miller Park that serves as a lasting tribute to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, past and present. The memorial features etched granite panels illustrating significant military conflicts through imagery, historical facts, and statistics selected in collaboration with a local veterans organization. A commemorative brick sponsorship program was also established, connecting new engraved brick bands with the existing memorial walls and providing opportunities to honor veterans, active service members, and community supporters who contributed to the project.
South Fontana Park; Fontana, CA
Through extensive collaboration with the City of Fontana and the local community, BMLA and its team of consultants have crafted the South Fontana Sports Park, which boasts four full-size artificial turf soccer/football fields, ensuring year-round availability for residents. At its core, the project includes a central plaza featuring a shaded gathering area, a concessions stand, restroom facilities, a tree-lined picnic area, and a universally accessible playground. Additionally, the park offers multiple designated walking circuits, catering to users seeking various options for their workouts. See more about South Fontana Park in LASN's March 2025 Parks Issue.
