On July 24, the Brick Industry Association(https://www.landscapearchitect.com/industry/index-result-a.php?uid=0&type_event=meeting&action=search&search=acronym&acro=1532) honored creative use of fired-clay brick in design with the Brick in Architecture Awards. Any work of architecture or landscape architecture completed since January 1, 2013, in which new clay brick products comprised over 50 percent of the building or paving material used, was eligible for submission. Out of 88 total entries, 19 submissions received awards. A jury of independent design professionals chose the winners.Of the 19 designs awarded, only 5 were labeled as Best in Class.
